There is less than a week to go until the start of the summer sales, which will also start in Puglia and Basilicata starting next July 6th. In Bari, the merchants are preparing to welcome many citizens and tourists, who in these months are crowding the streets of the capital of Puglia, who will want to buy clothing at discounted prices.
According to the calendar established by the Puglia Region, it will be possible to take advantage of the sales until September 15th, even if at the moment the ban which blocks all promotional sales in the two weeks before July 6th is still valid.
What Confcommercio says
Confcommercio, on the occasion of the announcement for the start of the summer sales, has drawn up a series of recommendations and rules necessary to ensure the protection of shopkeepers as well as consumers.
And if the possibility of changing the item after purchasing it is generally left to the discretion of the retailer, unless the product is damaged, the merchant is necessarily required to accept payment by credit card. “The items that are offered on sale – explains Confcommercio – must be seasonal or fashionable, and be susceptible to significant depreciation if not sold within a certain period of time”.
Finally, it is mandatory for the merchant to indicate the normal selling price, as well as the discount applied and the amount of the final price.
The flop of the winter sales
The hope of the Bari merchants is that the unfortunate fate of the January winter sales will not be repeated, with sales starting slowly and never really taking off. Among the complaints, in fact, there are those who declared that, despite the large discounts offered, many of the customers often stopped to look at the items in the window without completing the purchase.
