Benevento: Liceo Giannone awarded at the BCT. Important recognition at the BCT – National Film and Television Festival for the students attending the Clio course of the Pietro Giannone classical high school in Benevento!

On the final evening of June 30, the students of the fifth year of middle school A and fifth year of middle school F were awarded for the creation of two short films on the theme of gender violence.

The students went on stage, set up in Piazza Santa Sofia, accompanied by the Headmaster, Prof. Teresa De Vito, who expressed pleasure and satisfaction with this result and thanked the organization of the BCT, the students, the teachers and the contact person, Prof. Anna Aversano.

This recognition, obtained in the section of the festival reserved for short films made by schools and screened during the festival on 26 and 27 June, arises from the now consolidated experimentation that has been carried out for years in the Clio sections of the Giannone high school, dedicated to the study of new languages of communication (journalism, theatre, cinema, photography).

The Giannone high school, in its mission educational and didactic, has always promoted students’ reflection on highly topical transversal themes, such as gender violence, education on respect, which emphasize the value of preventing violence, on those relational dynamics that are the expression of a culture not based on respect. The goal is to bring out all the critical skills and abilities that often do not appear in curricular activities, also enhancing those hidden talents that such experiments can bring to light and consolidate.

The activities were coordinated by Professor Anna Aversano, who has been the contact person for the Clio program for years, and saw the participation and collaboration of two splendid professionals, young and of great cultural depth who, in their interaction with the students, managed to catalyze their interest in a fascinating and attractive world such as that of cinema: Dr. Vincenzo Di Matteo, who guided the students of 5A in the creation of the commercial “Tutti quanti insieme posso” and the short film “Nessuno si salva da solo”, which participated in the competition “Da uno sguardo, film di studenti male and female on gender violence”, organized by the MIM in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture; and Dr. Carlo Prozzo, who guided the students of 5F in the creation of the short film “Ombre”, included in the short list of the Duemila30 Film Festival, screened in Milan between 27 and 30 June, and in that of the Pinewood in London among the students’ projects.

The students, particularly involved in this project path, showed their enthusiasm, recognizing the enormous educational value of this activity, which met with a high level of satisfaction, especially because they felt like protagonists of an experience that involved them in first person in all phases of its planning and realization.
