A few hours ago, the New daily newspaper of Puglia had communicated important news regarding the future of the stadium Via del Mareannouncing the commissioner’s yes Ferrarese to the coverage.
A work worth 25 million, additional to the 11.3 million already allocated for an overall restyling of the plant. The commissioner of Mediterranean Gamesinterviewed by Corriere dello Sportupdated the world of Lecce and beyond regarding the facility which can accommodate over 28 thousand spectators.
The coverage at Via del Mare
The two main stadiums for the Mediterranean Games are Lecce and Taranto, although it was then decided, with the International Committee, to also indicate two others in the pipeline, Francavilla Fontana and Brindisi.
Lecce, after an initial work already included in the first decree, through the president Sticchi Damiani, on behalf of the entire territory, has generated a DIP (Design guidance document), requesting the construction of the covering of the Via del Mare with a economic framework of 25 million euros. On my part and on the Government’s part, there is a desire to make this dream come true, as Sticchi Damiani himself defined it, also because the funds are there.
Future prospects
I presented the master plan in December and created the designs in a few months. Furthermore, we have also outsourced the checks because those designs, which in the meantime are in a service conference, must be verified by other companies that deal with exactly this.
The hope is that, after having accelerated so much, work will now begin on all the construction sites, depending on the size, in the period between September and November. This would be a real miracle.
