The Italian Tech Week will take place in Turin from 25 to 27 September. The three-day event organized by Vento, the Italian chapter of the Exor Ventures investment fund, in editorial collaboration with the Gedi group, which allows the brightest minds on the Italian and international technological scene to connect, get inspired and discuss innovation, future and new trends directions. There is also ample space for free professional training, thanks to a program of 30 top-level masterclasses.

The essential Italian stage in European tech

In the European scenario, Italy is one of the fastest growing Venture Capital (VC) – Startup ecosystems. In addition to having drastically reduced the gap with other countries, in just 2 years it has tripled the number of unicorn companies. In particular, as revealed by the recent data from the Observatory on venture capital in Italy created by Growth Capital in collaboration with the Italian Tech Alliance, Italy inaugurated 2024 by recording an important positive sign: in fact, in the first quarter, 443 million euros, compared to 389 million euros in the fourth quarter of 2023, while the investment rounds went from 88 to 108, marking a new record in Italian VC confirming a clear reversal of the trend compared to 2023. Italian Tech Week thus fits into a context that is once again in turmoil, with the aim of contributing to further accelerating this significant growth, encouraging meetings, the sharing of ideas and the creation of profitable trans-national synergies.

With this aim, the tech conference will therefore host on stage a parterre of speakers who will include some of the most important VCs at a national and international level, including Doug Leone of Sequoia Capital, Jeannette zu Fürstenberg, Mg and Head of Europe of General Catalyst and founding partner of La Famiglia Vc, Diego Piacentini, Chairman of Vento, Sandeep Bakshi, Head of Investments Europe of Prosus Ventures, Noam Ohana, Managing Director of Exor Ventures, Raluca Ragab, Managing Director of Eurazeo Growth Fund and Mike Volpi, Partner of Index Ventures.

Focus on Artificial Intelligence, but not only

The great protagonist of the 2024 edition, in thematic terms, will certainly be Artificial Intelligence and, in particular, Generative Ai, the most discussed technology of the moment. An extensive session will be dedicated to AI during the second day of the event, Thursday 26 September, inaugurated by a speech in the presence of Sam Altman, Co-founder and CEO of OpenAi, in conversation with John Elkann, CEO of Exor and Chairman of Stellantis & Ferrari. But not only that, because riding the interest highlighted by the major investments, we will also talk about the future of mobility, between autonomous driving and micromobility, healthcare, food, climate, art and much more. Among the world-famous names already on the agenda, Alex Kendall, CEO of Wayve, Ilkka Paananen, Co-founder and CEO of Supercell, the Italian Matilde Giglio, Co-founder of Even, Alexander Rinke, Co-founder and Co-CEO stand out by Celonis, Daniel Gross, investor and entrepreneur and Mike Winkelmann, aka Beeple, the most famous American digital artist ever.

Free professional training

The three days will also be a unique opportunity to train through stimulating practical masterclasses, organized in collaboration with Italian Tech Academy, the Talent Garden academy. Held by successful entrepreneurs, they will provide new ideas and best practices to follow. The program will have up to 30 masterclasses, all with free participation upon registration.

An app dedicated to networking

There will be no shortage of networking opportunities, thanks to the new event app with integrated matchmaking system, which will allow you to meet among all the participants those of greatest interest to each. All participants will, in fact, have access to this platform, ideal for staying updated on all the news of the event and above all connecting, communicating and getting in touch with people who are important for your business.

Beyond the conference: Turin comes alive with tech communities

The Officine Grandi Riparazioni (Ogr) Turin – hub for innovation and contemporary culture – confirms itself for the fifth consecutive edition as the ideal location for the event and beyond. In fact, Italian Tech Week will extend throughout the city of Turin with collateral events organized independently by the main Italian tech communities. There will be many “side events”, including aperitifs, runs and training in the Valentino Park, themed breakfasts and exclusive moments of conviviality which will offer participants further opportunities to socialize and have fun. An absolute experience discovering the beauties of the Piedmontese capital which will confirm Turin as the Italian destination par excellence for the international tech sector.
