SANTE MARIE (AQ) – Extraordinary collaboration between Briganti Film Festival and the Istituto Cinematografico dell’Aquila “La Lanterna Magica” ETS, between tradition and innovation in a unique event in the Italian cultural panorama. As part of the first edition of “Briganti Film Festival“, to be held from September 13th to 15th in Sante Mariea collaboration will be inaugurated that aims to enhance the cinema of yesterday and the cinema of today and to promote cinematographic culture in the area.
On September 14, the Library of the Municipality of Sante Marie will inaugurate the new “Cinema Section” with a presentation of the “CINEMA in BOOKS” project by the Cinematographic Institute. The event will include a 10-minute talk and the display of a collection of books dedicated to cinema. Also on September 14th, at 11pm, a special screening of a Laurel and Hardy film will be held, preceded by a speech from the Artistic Director. This event is organized as part of the SOS Laurel and Hardy project, which the Cinematographic Institute has been carrying out since 2019, and will be an opportunity to celebrate the legacy of the most famous comedy duo in the world.
From September 13, the MuMAC, the Museum of Cinema Crafts and Arts of the Cinematographic Institute, will exhibit a selection of vintage cinema cameras. This exclusive exhibition will remain open for the duration of the festival, offering a fascinating journey through the history of cinema.
This synergy represents a meeting point between the conservation of cinematographic heritage and the exploration of new creative horizons. The L’Aquila Film Institute, with its vast archive of over 100,000 pieces, and the Briganti Film Festival, a showcase for emerging and innovative artists, offer an unmissable event for all cinema enthusiasts.
