Lamezia Terme – The spontaneous Aterp public housing committee in via Matteotti in an appeal to the authorities asks them to pay attention to their case regarding their desire to buy their homes where they have lived for over sixty years. “The citizens of Lamezia residing in the public housing in Via Matteotti – we read in the letter – are tired of the inertia of the Catanzaro Aterp. Although their homes, according to current regulations, are subject to being purchased with a simple property redemption procedure, Aterp continues to process their requests. The residents in these Aterp houses are obviously all legitimate assignees of the accommodation and have lived in these properties for over sixty years. All the obstacles to the redemption of the properties could be attributed to the failure to register the buildings, and although it appears that technicians from outside the organization have been appointed, no solution has been found. In the meantime, in recent years the inconveniences endured by the assignees have been continuous: no renovations and no management of the condominiums, abandoned to themselves. The assignees were obviously also deprived of the possible use of the bonus case”.
“Now after endless requests and failed promises, the residents of via Matteotti – concludes Domenico Porchia for the Committee – are turning not only to the Aterp leaders, but also to all the local authorities, from the Mayor to the Prefect, so that their just cause to buy their homes, and finish an exhausting payment of the rent which, among other things, has increased significantly since January 1st, can finally come to a conclusion”.
