After the visit to the city by Piero De Luca and Francesco Boccia, to stop in Avellino to strongly support the candidacy for mayor of Antonio Gengaro And Mariolina Castellone, vice president of the Senate. The meeting, focused on the theme of disability, took place at the electoral committee in Piazza Libertà on the last afternoon of the electoral campaign before the closing scheduled for tomorrow 7 June and the electoral silence which will start at midnight. Exactly 15 hours before the polls open for the European and local elections; 9 hours less than the canonical expected day.

Castellone (M5S) in Avellino in support of Gengaro: “The progressive front is a valid alternative to the right”

Welcoming Castellone to Avellino were the candidate for the office of mayor Antonio Gengaro, the deputy Michele Gubitosa, the five-star regional councilor Vincenzo Ciampi, the candidate for the European elections for the Southern Constituency Maura Sarno. Also at the table were the candidate councilors for the Municipality of Avellino Giovanni Esposito and Felicita Ciano.

“We are convinced that to offer an alternative to this right we need to work to unite the forces of the progressive front, as it was in Naples and as it will now be in Avellino with the candidate Gengaro – declared Mariolina Castellone – we are here to talk not only about municipal elections, but also of the next European elections with the presence of our candidate Maura Sarno. We put in place good people, who know the territories, and we have a project that puts people at the centre.”

“In a historical phase characterized by vote-exchange, corruption and funds to manage, it is necessary to choose transparent and clean people”

Social justice, dignity of work, infrastructure, healthcare are the topics on the political agenda of the M5S: “These are topics that are of particular interest to those who live in internal areas, in particular young people, who want to have the right not to have to emigrate – he stated the senator of the M5S – our program always looks to the future, while the other political forces continue to propose the same people over and over again and, even in the programs they write, they are unable to have a vision of how beautiful and innovative the projects for the our territories”.

As regards the judicial matter of the Municipality of Avellino and the principles of transparency and legality of which Antonio Gengaro became spokesperson during the electoral campaign, Castellone has no doubts: “We consider public ethics and transparency to be fundamental pillars. Our candidates at all elections they must present the certificate of pending charges and a clean criminal record because we start from this assumption. I believe that public ethics must be at the center of the political agenda, especially considering how many scandals we are seeing, such as vote swapping and corruption. It is a very important moment to keep our standards high, also because there is a lot of public money such as that of the PNRR, which must also be managed by local authorities. It is therefore essential to entrust the management of these funds to transparent, clean people and that they can truly do the good of the territories and the citizens who live there”.

Gubitosa: “Genovese and Nargi are not very authentic. Gengaro is the only one who reaches the people, he will go to the ballot”

“Citizens, even the most disappointed ones, go to the polls to express their vote for the European and local elections” is the invitation of the M5S deputy Michele Gubitosa. “I hope – he added – that the majority parties do not gain votes in the South given that next week they will bring the Split Italy Decree to Parliament, i.e. the autonomy of the regions, which will be a blow for the South”.

On the administrative elections in Avellino, the Irpinia parliamentarian declared: “Genovese gives me the impression of being inauthentic when he communicates with citizens, it almost seems like he is reading the news, he is unable to reach the people. Even Nargi seems inauthentic to me , I have seen some of his speeches that seem like videos reconstructed with artificial intelligence. Antonio, however, despite the criticism, is the only one who manages to communicate to people. When he speaks, the message reaches people with him, others don’t, but he is the only candidate who manages to make himself understood.”

Finally, the announcement of Giuseppe Conte’s visit to Avellino in the event of a run-off: “We have repeated several times the importance of having him come, I personally invited him for the run-off to have more time to be among the people, without the rush of the European elections. I am sure that Antonio Gengaro will go to the run-off because Genovese has completely disappeared from the radar despite having started with a sprint campaign, using the term ‘gate’, which was a bit reminiscent of the myths of the scandals of the 70s it must have seemed new, but it appeared old in people’s minds. I know where Nargi is campaigning, but she brings with her all the problems inherited from the Festa administration.”
