The Abruzzo Regional Council has approved the 2024-2025 school calendar for state and private schools, establishing the following dates for the start and end of teaching activities: Monday 16 September 2024 as the start date of lessons for all schools of every order and degree; Saturday 7 June 2025 as the end date of lessons for primary and secondary schools; Monday 30 June 2025 as the end date of educational activities in nursery school.
Lessons will be suspended for all school levels during holidays recognized by current state legislation, including: every Sunday, 1 November 2024 (All Saints’ Day), 8 December 2024 (Immaculate Conception), 25 December 2024 (Christmas ), 26 December 2024 (Boxing Day), 1 January 2025 (New Year), 6 January 2025 (Epiphany), 20 April 2025 (Easter), 21 April 2025 (Easter Monday), 25 April 2025 (Liberation Day), 1 May 2025 (Workers’ Day), 2 June 2025 (Republic Day), and for the Patron Saint’s Day.
Lessons will also be suspended on the following days established by the Region: 2 November 2024 (commemoration of the deceased), 3 November 2024, from 23 December 2024 to 6 January 2025 for the Christmas holidays, from 17 April 2025 to 22 April 2025 for Easter holidays, and 26 April 2025.
For the 2024/2025 school year, the days of teaching activity will be: in primary school and in lower and lower secondary schools, from Monday to Saturday, 204 days (203 days including the feast of the Patron Saint) and from Monday to Friday, 171 days (170 days including the feast of the Patron Saint); in the nursery school, from Monday to Saturday, 223 days (222 days including the feast of the Patron Saint) and from Monday to Friday, 187 days (186 days including the feast of the Patron Saint).
