“The “Alzheimer Help Desk” was born in Agrigento, inside the Cittadella della Salute in Viale della Vittoria, a listening and orientation center able to accommodate the requests of those who have to deal with the disease and other forms of dementia” .
This was announced by the ASP of Agrigento.
“The service, offered by the Complex Operational Unit “Degenerative and involutive diseases” directed by Dr. Liana Gucciardino, will be active – adds the Company – from next Tuesday 11 June and will be managed by a multidisciplinary team available to the patients’ families for ensure welcome, information and support. During the week the help desk will be available on Tuesday afternoons (from 3.30pm to 5.30pm) and Friday mornings (from 10.00am to 12.00pm). “Thanks to the new service, which further implements the range of services provided by the Mental Health Department directed by Dr. Leonardo Giordano, caregivers and family members will receive, in a dedicated manner, guidance and counseling, support – the press release concludes – for access to health and social-health services, psychological support, information and training”.
