The parking area in Square Josemaria Escrivábetter known as the hospital car park, it will be paid for the whole year. A decision, that of the Municipality of Crotone, leaked already in December 2023, but which found fulfillment only in recent dayswith the approval of a specific managerial resolution – 1,487 of May 31st – containing some changes compared to the original project.
The gist of the matter does not change: the large car park gives approximately 100 seats car will be entrusted to Parkitan external company that already operates in the city managing (as can be seen from the resolution) as many as 1,622 parking spaces on blue lines. And it will therefore be paid, with one rate of 1 euro per hour from Monday to Saturday, while on holidays it will be possible to take advantage of a flat rate ticket of 2 euros regardless of the length of stay.
The area will no longer be freely accessible, given the installation of opening barriers only after issuing or entering the ticket. The stop will be free for the first 30 minutes, and also in the two weeks around mid-August. In the past we had already tried to make the area payable, with poor results given the protests of associations and citizens.
