AFRAGOLA – A total of four carabinieri were attacked YESTERDAY in Afragola, for two unconnected incidents: in addition to the soldier hit with the butt of the gun on the head while, off duty (the soldier works in northern Italy), he was trying to foil a robbery against a woman and three other colleagues were injured after notifying a criminal under house arrest of his arrest in prison.
When the soldiers – three in total, including the commander of the Afragola station – showed up at the man’s house (sentenced to one year and six months in prison for aggravated robbery, illegal possession of weapons, personal injury and resistance) to notify him the transfer to prison, they were attacked by the criminal and his wife.
Everyone suffered consequences: the spouses were arrested in flagrante delicto for resisting and injuring a public official. The soldiers were transported by 118 personnel to the hospital in Frattamaggiore (Naples) for treatment. Among the injured, the arrested man was also visited in the same hospital (one day prognosis for him). In the end the robber was transferred to the Poggioreale prison and his wife, however, was placed under house arrest.
