UDINE – The funeral chapel dedicated to Bianca Doros and Patrizia Cormos, who tragically disappeared in the recent flood of the Natisone near the Roman Bridge of Premariacco, opened this morning at the Mansutti Funeral Home, located in the urban cemetery of San Vito. The bodies of the two girls, originally from Romania, were found on June 2, following an intense search.
Moving participation of the community and the authorities
The families of the young women, deeply affected, were welcomed with respect and condolences by the local authorities: the prefect, the police commissioner of Udine, as well as the provincial commanders of the Carabinieri and the Guardia di Finanza. The affection and support of the community was evident from the first moments of the opening of the funeral home.
The two girls were dressed with wedding dresses, a touching tribute to their cultural roots and a common practice in the tradition of their home country. This symbolic gesture touched the hearts of many, highlighting the loss of two young lives in their prime.
A final collective farewell
Numerous citizens have already paid tribute to the two young women, whose lives were ended too soon. The funeral chapel will remain open until tomorrow at 4pm, when an ecumenical ceremony will be held officiated by two priests, one Orthodox and one Catholic, to symbolize the union of different faiths in prayer.
Also scheduled for the morning is the presence of the mayor of Udine, Alberto Felice De Toni, who will express the city’s condolences and closeness to the families of the victims.
