Spectators and takings growing for the Tuscany Theater Foundationwhich also includes the Era Theater of Pontedera, as well as the Teatro della Pergola. The general director announced it Marco Giorgettiwho in view of the new season took stock after a complicated 2023.
“All the data are growing: audience, financing, revenue and recognition by the Ministry – he pointed out – navigation of all our theaters is solid and, after the shocks of 2023, brought back to a safe track. Furthermore, there is a new corporate structure: to date the members are the Tuscany Region, the Municipality of Florence, the Metropolitan City of Florence, Municipality of Pontedera And Peccioli Foundation for Art. At least three institutional figures, including the president Tommaso Sacchi, are out of office and their roles will be renewed after June 9th.”
The company no longer appears in the corporate structure Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Foundation, which however confirmed the 2024 contribution and the intention to continue alongside the theatre. “I am not worried about the future – added Giorgetti – the solidity of our business gives me hope and to be sure that the new members will continue the path we have designed in recent years of a national and European theater that focuses on young people”.
In detail, the data reported confirms how the ministerial contribution has always increased since 2020, while the Foundation is aiming for the objective of 2 million euros in 2024. Finally, spectators rose to 185 thousand in 2024, up from 177 thousand in 2023; this, consequently, also led to a 20% increase in takings.
