POWER – A For Elisa – The Claps caseSpecial Silver Ribbon to its director Marco Pontecorvo and the protagonist Gianmarco Saurino. The actor is also in the cast James George who received, for four titles, the “Guglielmo Biraghi” Award assigned by the cinematographic press for the talent of the youngest.

The work on one of the most debated crime cases was therefore rewarded: the story of the young girl from Potenza who disappeared and was killed and whose body was found years later in the attic of the Trinità church in Potenza. Reconstructed based on the book “Blood on the altar” by Tobias Jones and with the consultancy of the Claps family, the TV series broadcast on Rai 1 in three evenings was produced by Fastfilm Srl and Cosmopolitan Pictures Limited, in collaboration with Rai Fiction.

For Elisa – The Claps caseit was shot almost entirely in Basilicata between Potenza, Matera and Rionero.

For the President of the Lucana Film Commission Margherita Romaniello “this recognition rewards a quality project carried out with passion and quite a few challenges. Our congratulations go to all the professionals involved in this production and we share this success with them.”

“We are happy that the miniseries inspired by the story of Elisa Claps finds another important confirmation of a choice that is particularly close to our hearts” he declares Laura Delli Colli, President of the Film Journalists and the Nastri d’Argento. “The special Nastri d’Argento-Grandi serie award that we have just awarded to Marco Pontecorvo for the direction and to Gianmarco Saurino for a truly exciting interpretation is in fact, beyond the artistic quality, a recognition of the civil value of a series that makes the difference in the panorama of stories, also inspired by the news, of this last season. In the reconstruction of a mystery that shocked and passionate Italy there is in fact the civic sense of a commitment which, in addition to the success which won over millions of spectators, offered a decisive contribution to rekindling attention on a case that had been unsolved for years”

“We are honored and proud of the Special Ribbon a For Elisa” underlines the producer Maurizio Tini. “In addition to National Union of Italian Film Journalists (SNGCI), we thank the Lucanian institutions and the population for having welcomed and supported us with enthusiasm, and above all the Claps family, without whose decisive and constant help this work would not have been possible”.

The Ribbons for the Great Series of the year were delivered on 1 June, at the Royal Palace of Naples, with a ceremony that concluded the fourth edition of the Award conceived and organized by Italian Film Journalists in collaboration with the Campania Region Film Commission, with the support of the MiC General Directorate for Cinema and Audiovisual.
