Legacoop Romagna met a delegation of workers in the agricultural sector who, on 1st July, on the occasion of the strike proclaimed by FLAI CGIL, FAI CISL and UILA, organized a demonstration at the Ravenna headquarters of the cooperatives association, in Via Faentina. The strike was proclaimed following the breakdown between the parties at the national negotiating table for the renewal of the national collective labor agreement for cooperatives and agricultural consortia. Legacoop Romagna shared with the union delegation the strong concern for the stability of the agricultural sector, brought to its knees by the flood (30 million in damages and insignificant compensation) and grappling with climate changes that can no longer be contained, without hiding the fact that in recent months the biggest commitment of the companies was to guarantee all the existing jobs. Reasons which, naturally, do not call into question the attention to the needs of workers, in full awareness of how this historical phase is characterized by a constant and drastic reduction in the purchasing power of wages. Legacoop Romagna has firmly reiterated its willingness to resume dialogue at the national table, with the hope that a new phase of discussion can be opened, until an agreement is reached which can be the result of positive, constructive and sustainable mediation for both parties.
