Resource, perspective, dream of an afterlife to travel, place of exchange and war: “Cities and water” will be the theme of the second edition of the Festival of the Cities of the Middle Ages, scheduled in L’Aquila from Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 July 2024 at the Auditorium del Parco.

The Festival of the Cities of the Middle Ages, proposing itself as an event that focuses on the immeasurable value of historical dissemination to the general public, will be a long reflection on the importance of water as a founding, historical, commercial and identity element for cities in the Middle Ages, through a series of high-level dissemination meetings with historians, archaeologists, artists, writers and journalists.

The days will be marked by major macro-themes: Seas and oceans and Water in everyday life (Friday, July 5); Stories around water (Saturday, July 6), Rivers of Europe and Maritime Republics (Sunday, July 7).

The morning of July 6th will be closed at 11.30 am by an intervention by Federica ZalabraDirector of the National Museum of Abruzzo – L’Aquila, entitled “From Water and Spirit”. Meanings and Symbolism in the Works of the National Museum of Abruzzo.

Admission is free and open to the public.
