(Sixth Power) – Forlì – 3 June 2024 – The Fiamme Gialle of Forlì-Cesena responded with great participation to the awareness initiative promoted by the local Provincial Command to strengthen the culture of volunteering and the diffusion of blood donation.
The Financier-donors serving in the departments of the province, who were also joined by some Fiamme Gialle on leave, in recent days, in fact, have met at the blood collection points located throughout the area for the important gesture of solidarity .
The related support campaign – which is among the events organized by the Provincial Command to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Foundation of the Guardia di Finanza – represents a tangible sign that goes beyond the institutional mission of the Corps, touching the health of citizens and placing itself in the furrow of the deepest solidarity values of the Corps.
In Forlì, then, it also coincides with another anniversary.
The collection of blood and blood components is, in fact, part of the initiatives of the “Memorandum of Understanding” signed exactly one year ago – in June 2023 – between the Provincial Command of the Guardia di Finanza and the Municipal AVIS of Forlì.
In these last twelve months the Fiamme Gialle donors, who represent over 16% of the soldiers in service, have given further proof of their altruism and generosity, further increasing the already significant number of donations from the previous year.
And to strengthen and complete this important synergy throughout the provincial territory, the Provincial Command has today signed a similar agreement with the Municipal AVIS of Cesena, with the aim of fully implementing the information campaign already undertaken a year ago to disseminate the culture of donation of blood and blood components both at work and at home.
The agreement – which has a duration of three years, with the possibility of renewal – was signed this morning at the provincial headquarters of Forlì by the President of AVIS of Cesena, Gualtiero Giunchi, and by the Provincial Commander of the Fiamme Gialle, Col. Vito Cleaners.
For its part, the AVIS of Cesena, as well as that of Forlì, will ensure its collaboration for the awareness and promotion activities of the voluntary unpaid donation of blood and blood components, also guaranteeing its technical and logistical support on the occasion of any collections.
Furthermore, by mutual agreement, AVIS Financiers and Volunteers will organize useful initiatives for the training of their respective operators, also through exchanges of experiences and the creation of specific courses.
The Provincial Commander of Forlì, Col. Vito Pulieri, in welcoming the great generosity shown by his men and women, highlighted how the donation represents an act of generosity for the development and affirmation of the culture of solidarity, a gesture of altruism which must become routine, because “blood is useful, always and for everyone”.
The Presidents of AVIS of Forlì and Cesena, Malaguti and Giunchi, in expressing satisfaction and profound gratitude, thanked the Guardia di Finanza for the sensitivity shown on the various collection occasions and, in particular, in those of recent days which, moreover, , precede World Blood Donor Day, which will be celebrated on June 14th and which is an important moment to remember how many lives can be saved with a small gesture of solidarity.
Giunchi and Malaguti recalled how every day blood and blood components are a priority need in hospital facilities for first aid and surgical interventions and, above all, to treat the diseases of onco-haematological patients, whose transfusions are essential to overcome the initial phase of the disease.
