Cortona Comics, 4 thousand entries to the second edition

Over 4 thousand entries to the event, over seventy artists and authors involved in the two weekends, 30 “talks” with presentations, guest appearances, awards ceremonies, meetings and projects with schools of the area, the true flagship of this new edition. There were also numerous interactions with the posts spread on social media, including through live broadcasts which allowed public meetings to be followed remotely

Young people were involved starting from the presentation of Alfa with the students, the courses for children followed by Teresa Conte and Teresa Cherubini, not to mention Pietro Ubaldi’s show capable, as always, of involving young and old in his raids linguistic and “cartoonish”. The awards chapter, with the Jac d’Oro dedicated to the great Benito Jacovitti to Fabio Celoni and with the Città di Cortona prize, awarded to Carmine di Giandomenicogave depth to the entire event, involving many people present at the awards.

This year too, the self-production room was an important showcase for young artists and authors from all over the country. Together with the Celoni exhibition, Cortona Comics proposed that of Elena Casagrande, Carmine Di Giandomenico and Stefano Raffaele, at Palazzo Ferretti with «Italians do it better» and the exhibition at the Maec with the covers that characterized the history of Mickey Mouse. For the entire duration of Cortona Comics, an area of ​​Sant’Agostino was dedicated to the comics and gadgets market and to the Games Area, with theactivation of more than 300 game sessions and many players involved.

Cortona Comics was organized by Cortona Sviluppoan “in house” company of the Municipality of Cortona and the Il Minotauro association with the support of Coingas, Banca Popolare di Cortona, Selica, Conad shop in Camucia and other companies and technical sponsors.
