Community celebration Sunday 2 June: an opportunity for the Cristo Re parish of Tavernola (Como) to officially present the outcome of the restoration work on the external area of the oratory.
New life outside the oratory, a project supported by many
From a bumpy car park to a meeting place for the whole community with a 5-a-side football pitch, a volleyball court and a new green area. Don Roberto Bartesaghi, parish priest of Tavernola, thanked the community for the significant economic support guaranteed to the project with the donations to the Fund specifically set up for the Comasca Community Foundation and for the collaboration guaranteed throughout the process. The intervention is part of the project “The oratory, a community space”, supported by the Cariplo Foundation on the 2022 Provincial Emblematic Notice and promoted by the Parish of Tavernola, ASD US Tavernola, the NOI Tavernola Association and the LUMILHUB social enterprise.
A consolidated bond
A bond that has been consolidated, as remembered by Lucia Villaniand involved new methods of co-management of the oratory, as well as the ongoing drafting of a regulation shared between adults and children for the use of the new fields.

The day ended with a community moment for young people who, in the presence of the mayor and councilor Quagliarini, placed three colored benches in the green area in memory of Geky, Bianca and Chiara, three young parishioners who passed away prematurely in recent years. years.

The young people’s report: “This initiative, carried out in collaboration with DM96 Srl and thanks to the fundamental support of the Cariplo Foundation, represents a great opportunity to create a meeting place that responds to the needs and desires of us young people. Participatory planning is not a simple process. It first of all required commitment from us: the ability to listen to all the voices involved in the project, the need to find a balance between different visions, overcoming technical issues and managing expectations are just some of the aspects we faced. However, it is precisely through these challenges that we discovered the strength of teamwork and the beauty of collaboration. There were many joys, in particular seeing the enthusiasm and creativity of the kids take shape in concrete projects has added value to our project, transforming it into something unique and special. The active participation of the youngest among us has demonstrated how important it is to give them space and voice, recognizing their fundamental role in building the future. What really drives us are the dreams and hopes that bring this project to life. We imagine a place where young people can meet, grow together, express their creativity and build meaningful relationships. A place that is not just a physical space, but a real point of reference for the community, capable of responding to current needs and adapting to the challenges of tomorrow. We are confident that by the end of the year we will be able to see this dream come true.
