Court of Brindisi: collection point inaugurated in favor of the diocesan Caritas – Senza Colonne News

The “place of solidarity” was inaugurated today, 3 June, at the Court of Brindisi, on the initiative of the Brindisi subsection of the National Magistrates Association, a room in which anyone who wants it (including magistrates, lawyers, administrative staff and members of police force) can also purchase a limited quantity of products intended for the sixteen city parishes that have joined together in the “Parrocchie solidali Brindisi” association (third sector body) and take turns to administer one meal a day to approximately two hundred people – of different nationalities – who live in a condition of absolute poverty and who are unable to obtain resources independently.
The list mainly includes products useful for packaging and sorting portions to the needy, the cost of which – amounting to around 15,000 euros per year for the aluminum trays alone – is currently supported solely by the diocesan Caritas Brindisi-Ostuni: in addition to the trays of aluminium, you can give plates, glasses, cutlery, napkins, rolls of aluminum and film, which will be distributed to the Caritas bursar on a weekly basis.
Today’s ceremony was attended by Archbishop Giovanni Intini, the President of the Court Vincenzo Scardia, the Prosecutor of the Republic Antonio De Donno, Don Adriano Miglietta, Don Massimo Mengasi and Don Pierino Manzo for the solidarity parishes, the President of the ANM subsection Giuseppe De Nozza and the secretary Antonio Natali.
“An initiative expressing solidarity in favor of others in their expression of poverty, weakness and marginalization”, the ANM defined it, inviting people to participate in the collection.
