The Lombardy Region approved two important measures today in the Council, proposed by the Welfare Councilor, aimed at strengthening the infrastructure and technology of the healthcare system.

With the first resolution, regional resources amounting to 128.2 million are allocated to the Lombardy Ats and Assts for equipment and environmental adjustments and reclamation.
The second measure, of 1.141 billion euros, provides for the distribution of national funds across 9 projects for the construction or renovation of strategic hospital facilities. These are resources of article 20 of National Law 67/88 dedicated to this type of intervention.

“We are allocating a first tranche of regional resources – underlined the regional councilor for Welfare – for low and medium technology equipment. Acquisitions and renewals with PNRR funds are underway on large equipment, but all the equipment used by healthcare workers must be efficient and modern to allow them to work optimally. The device for performing the ECG or the portable ultrasound are fundamental parts of the equipment necessary for the healthcare activity that is carried out every day in our facilities”.

“With the second resolution – concluded the Welfare councilor – we allocate the national funds already foreseen in relation to art. 20, realigning and specifying the interventions in order to accelerate the implementation process and therefore their timely and prompt implementation These are strategic projects with which we intend to proceed in the next three years in the Lombardy region”.

THE FIRST MEASURE

This intervention aims to improve the efficiency of healthcare facilities, reduce waiting lists and increase the safety of patients and operators. Finally, 11.2 million euros for expansion, renovation and asbestos abatement works in the San Gerardo hospital in Monza (6.9 million), the Rivolta d’Adda hospital (2.3 million) and for the adaptation of the Cernusco sul Naviglio operating block (1.9 million).
