BERGAMO – Championship recovery with defeat for Atalanta, who were beaten 2-3 at the Gewiss Stadium. Flat batteries perhaps, after the celebrations, but also a persistent rain which penalized the technical rate of the black and blues.
Gasperini shuffles the cards and initially leaves two very regular starters such as Djimsiiti and Scamacca, future protagonists at the European Championship, on the bench. In the second half the rotation of substitutions (in Scamacca, Miranchuk, Djmsiiti and Tourè) allowed Atalanta to maintain a good rhythm, but the game patterns became less precise and effective. Some opportunities arrive, a monumental one from Miranchuk who misses a penalty on the move. In fact, the main inspiration is unfortunately Scalvini’s injury, who misses a support while running and is forced to come out, replaced by Hateboer. For him, Europe is at great risk. In injury time there was time for a good save by Martinelli following Scamacca’s header.
