This summer bus and tram tickets cost 1 euro in Palermo. It’s called “Promo Estate” and it is the new initiative launched by Amat to encourage the use of public transport in the city.
Starting from midnight on June 1st it is possible to purchase an ordinary ticket at a cost of 1 euro. The ticket is valid for 90 minutes from validation but must be purchased exclusively via the PalerMobilita App, which can be downloaded free of charge from Android and Apple devices.
The promotion lasts from 1 June to 30 September 2024 and the tickets purchased must be used, however, by September 30th. Once the promotion period has ended (30 September 2024), the tickets purchased will no longer be usable and will not be refunded.
Thus the former municipal company chaired by Giuseppe Mistretta attempts to decongest traffic and reduce the circulation of cars in the city, encouraging the use of public transport also in view of the arrival of tourists and visitors.
For users of the App, those who have already purchased traditional ordinary tickets in their wallet will still be able to use them, and therefore validate them, even during the promotion period.

Just download the “PalrMobilita” app.
Register and click on “Bus/Tram”, then “Buy tickets and carnets” and select “Ordinary ticket” to complete the purchase.
