No changing winning team: a group of internationally renowned musical theater professionals and acrobats. The formula also remains unchanged: outdoor shows (always with free entry and “hat” exit, street theater style) and transfers, where possible, with backpacks on one’s shoulders, accompanied by lovers of walking and green tourism, 4 months of walking, crossing 5 regions and 10 provinces for over 700 km of roads and paths.
The wandering artists of Scalalcamontagne will start this time not from the Alessandria area, but from the Cuneo area: starting on Friday in Cossano Belbo for a couple of weeks itinerary that will touch Bra and various places in the Albese area. From June 25th the tour will enter the Asti area, in Bubbio, with subsequent stops in Loazzolo, Cessole and Monastero Bormida to enter the Alessandria area on the 29th, in Alice Bel Colle: six more dates in Alto Monferrato, between Acquese and Ovadese. The season will continue in the Ligurian hinterland, from 9 to 16 July, to return to Piedmont from the 30th: the shows will be staged in the Lanzo Valleys, in the province of Turin, even after August 15th, with the revival of the refuge tour, because the Mountain Climbers aim to go higher and higher. Two dates in Lombardy – in Truccazzano and Pozzuolo Martesana – at the beginning of September, then “the route of the two seas” in September with various venues in Puglia – from Polignano a Mare to Alberobello, to Taranto – to conclude in Sicily between the provinces of Agrigento and Palermo.
«Our cast has further expanded – explains Irene Geninatti Chiolero, spokesperson for the group -, even if the core remains the historical one». In addition to Irene (operatic soprano and actress, she likes to define herself as “even a bit of an acrobat”), Danilo Ramon Giannini (actor, singer and performer), Claudio Pinto Kovačević (prose actor), Daniela d’Aragona (prose actress and singer) and the pianist Stefano Nozzoli. Reconfirmed are Nicanor Cancellieri, clown flautist and juggler, and Julyo Fortunato, Japanese-Genoese multi-instrumentalist; the new name is that of Alessandro Bares, first violin of the Sforzesco string quartet of Milan and director of the Roman vocal ensemble Labyrinthus Vocum. Also confirmed is the collaboration with Gianfranco Vergoni, director, dancer and choreographer of the Rancia company, who last year directed «Un Cavallino Bianco», and this year created a new production with the Scalvalcamontagne: «Se mi lanci it is not fair”. The atmosphere is that of an American musical in New York in the 1950s, among cynical gamblers opposed by fierce moralizers. High pace, surprise inventions and hilarious ingredients that will not be missing. Debut for June 18th in Piobesi d’Alba.
Also new is «Summertime», a vocal challenge between opera and swing which will feature Irene Geninatti Chiolero and Danilo Ramon Giannini, accompanied by the accordion of Julyo Fortunato. In addition to «A White Horse», all the other proposals have been renewed, from «A Gala of operettas» to «Notes of saints and sinners», the show proposed in suggestive churches, where popular music dialogues with the concept of the divine. «Recipes and Symphonies», which plays on the relationship between food and eros, has been rewritten with a sort of nice reference to Masterchef.
