Teramo, the gynecologist Roberto Petrella struck off from the Medical Association

L’Order of Doctors of Teramo the gynecologist has been disbarred Roberto Petrella77 years old, known for his critical positions on vaccines, in particular on anti-Papillomavirus vaccine, after the Central Commission of the Ministry of Health rejected the appeal. The decision, immediately effective from May 16th, was communicated by the president of the Order, Cosimo Napoletano.

Already sanctioned in 2019, Petrella is currently on trial for manslaughter following an investigation launched by the Catanzaro Prosecutor’s Office following Digos investigations and with reference to the death of the 68-year-old Gennaro Sanges. The Teramo Prosecutor’s Office accuses him of having advised against hospital admission to the patient, who died in December 2021 from a heart attack.

From telephone interceptions it emerged that the anti-vax doctor would not have made a correct diagnosis to a patient with serious previous pathologies: heart disease with acute heart attack in 2007, hypertension, hypercholestolemia, diabetes, prostate problems. And, above all, he would have prescribed non-scientific practices, therefore not recognized by official medicine. Furthermore, he would have advised him to postpone hospital admission, which probably could have saved his life.

Petrella was placed under house arrest also due to the “non-occasional” nature of his conduct, as specified by the judge for preliminary investigations of Catanzaro. On several occasions, in fact, he would have recommended rather imaginative treatments. Also to Covid patientsfor which the doctor proposed alternative therapies from his Facebook profile, publishing videos with anything but scientific content.

Petrella, who announced his intention to appeal again, commented via social media on the definitive measure taken against him by the Teramo Medical Association: “They didn’t want me to speak to repeat the same things I had said to the president of the Order of Doctors of Teramo in the past and on which I had provided extensive documentation. My only fault is that of having consulted texts that can be purchased in every bookshop and having consolidated concepts useful for information. There is no radiation if scientific truth exists.”
