Turin, from Ciammaglichella to Savva: the Maturity of the 2005 granata

Some promoted to the first team and others sent back, the situation of the young Granata players

The 2005 vintage is busy these days with the final exam, the moment of transition to adulthood or university. This was also the case for the Torino boys who played in the Primavera this year. On the other hand, the category can be seen precisely as a sort of final year of high school. After the many lessons from primary school (or football school) onwards, the Primavera is the last step before moving on to the world of the grown-ups, to the first team. Of the 2005 Granata players there are four in particular to focus on: Aaron Ciammaglichella, Zanos Savva, Eybi Njie and Marco Dalla Vecchia.

Aaron Ciammaglichella and Zanos Savva: passed with full marks

Let’s start with those who passed their high school diploma with flying colors. First of all, Zanos Savva, who has also started to appear in Serie A. To continue the scholastic parallelism, it is as if during the fifth year of high school he had already taken an exam at university with 30 cum laude. On the other hand, his arrival on the pitch against Verona with a lot of goals is something unique. The boy left his mark in the Primavera until he was permanently added to the first team. Now comes the most complicated challenge for him: he will have to confirm the good things he has shown and continue to grow. Slightly different story for Ciammaglichella. Aaron joined the first team but did not make his debut. His excellent performances with the Primavera, however, have brought him the attention of Feyenoord, who are trying to purchase him from Torino on a permanent basis. Whoever lives will see, the certainty is that he is a player with great potential.

Eybi Njie and Marco Dalla Vecchia: postponed

Those who failed to fully convince were Njie and Dalla Vecchia. Both showed potential, but struggled to prove consistent. In particular, the Swede is the one who didn’t pass the maturity test, because he has a very interesting talent, but he still turns it on too intermittently. Perhaps due to his technical and athletic skills he is even better than Savva, but there is a reason why Juric preferred to call the Cypriot and it is precisely because of Njie’s discontinuity. The Swede will have to work to improve from this point of view, then he will be ready to go to the most important universities. Different story for Dalla Vecchia. You have interesting physical means and in fact Juric himself has monitored you, but you still have some technical gaps to work on. Him a few repetitions and then he will be ready for the world of adults. It cannot be ruled out that he will have another year in the Primavera, perhaps to test himself as a leader of the team.
