PALERMO – Number one fugitive in the Czech Republic has appeared in Palermo with a load of drugs. Ondrej Kara, 46, was arrested in recent days in Viale Regione Siciliana.

From director of a criminal network that sold drugs in Eastern Europe and Switzerland to courier of a shipment of 3.5 kilos of cocaine. One of the many couriers who bring drugs to Palermowhere there is a surge in consumption.

Ten kilos of cocaine are sold in the city every month. The main supply channel remains Calabria, followed by Campania. Between 2013 and 2014, 12 couriers were arrested, almost all with no criminal record.

Kara was not, who passed himself off as a dead Pole, a fugitive since 2020, and who must serve thirteen years in prison.

To the financiers of the Economic-Financial Police Unit he said a friend helped him get a job as a bouncer in clubs. Then he asked him a favor: bring some money to someone. First stop in Montelepre to meet a twenty year old boy and then in Messina.

The fugitive and drugs

Here he met a man with an Audi to whom he gave the money. Before setting off again he and his partner went to the bathroom. And it’s about time someone hid the three and a half kilos of cocaine in his Fiat Doblò.

Strange since they were hidden in the ventilation system. THEIn short, it wasn’t an operation that took just a few minutes.

Who was the drug intended for? The Palermo Prosecutor’s Office is reconstructing the movements of the Czech man who has been living in Sicily for a few months. Not only in the Sicilian capital, he has also moved to other cities.

There are mafia families behind the cocaine business. Each district manages purchases, deliveries and dealing. This is how money is made today. The confirmations come from the blitzes.

The mothership of cocaine

Last summer the financiers seized theto Plutus, considered the mother ship from which 5.3 quintals of white powder were transshipped onto a fishing vessel.

The largest drug seizure occurred in Italy. Uonce placed on the market the drug would have brought in 850 million euros.

The ship left Santo Domingo and then stopped in TRinidad and Tobago and subsequently in the port of Las Palmas (Gran Canaria – Spain). From here she crossed the Strait of Gibraltar and finally arrived in Channel of Sicilywaiting for the trawler that set sail from the Calabrian coast.

Once the drug load had been abandoned, the vessel attempted to set sail again towards Turkey, but it was blocked. Sicily was a stopover, as it was for the number one wanted man in the Czech Republic. From fugitive to drug courier.
