On 30 and 31 May, the students of the Classical High School and the European High School performed the theatrical show in the Crypt of the Cathedral of Avellino, “Wanderers of Infinity” . The event is the culmination of a theater workshop organized by the school, under the expert guidance of the Headmaster Rector, prof. Attilio Lieto. The theater project, the result of intense collective work, was created with the collaboration of the external expert, Maestro Salvatore Mazza, supported by Professor Giuseppina Satalino, in the role of internal tutor. “Wanderers of Infinity” explores the theme of travel through a rich polyphony of female images, representing women who move in disturbing and insidious spaces, from Calypso to Hecuba, from the frivolous Rosemary to the neurotic Lucy, addressing themes such as violence, fear, silence in society and in the family, until reaching the rebellion. Starting from the Homeric concept of nostos, the metaphor of the journey has crossed different characters and eras, from the Odyssey to Trojans of Euripides, from Kavafis to Ayckbourn. The young artists, through the ancient art of theatre, have enchanted the spectator, guiding him on an inner journey, transforming him into a traveler through a dimension made of whispered and shouted words, ancient and modern, poetic, literary and musical. With “Wanderers of Infinity” a unique opportunity was offered to explore the inexhaustible search for the infinite, inviting the public to deeply reflect on their personal experience and the intelligence of love.
