Found in an old disused hospital, in the Ceglie del Campo district, on the outskirts of Bari, killed with a gunshot. The victim is a 38-year-old Indian national. According to what has emerged so far from the investigations of the flying squad agents coordinated by the magistrate of the Bari prosecutor Matteo Soavethe victim, who in all likelihood was illegal on Italian territory, was inside the abandoned and dilapidated building where he used to spend the night together with other foreign citizens, some of whom were his compatriots, when three very young people would have broken in. One of them was holding a firearm and by pressing the trigger she hit the victim in the chest without giving him a chance.
Rescue and investigations
It was the witnesses to the crime who called for help yesterday evening and started the investigation which will have to define the motive for the murder. It cannot be ruled out that it may have been a punitive expedition. The Bari prosecutor’s office, meanwhile, has opened an investigation into voluntary homicide, and ordered an autopsy. Ferorelli of the Institute of Forensic Medicine of the Polyclinic of Barithe exam should be held on the same day.
Little is known about the victim: it is not clear who he was or how long he had been in Italy and Bari. The investigators, who are identifying who
he usually sleeps in the former hospital and then listens to him, they stay
ensuring the presence of video surveillance systems in the area.
