ANCONA Hundreds. Maybe thousands. Many hearts from Ancona, and beyond, who wanted to say goodbye to Graziano Cappella for the last time. The funeral of the 46-year-old who tragically passed away in recent days, due to a bad illness that ended up wearing him down, took place this morning in Piazza Salvo d’Acquisto amidst chants, smoke bombs and banners. Just as he, the historic ultras of the Doric North, liked them. Alongside the lifelong companions on the steps there are also representatives of the twinned fans (in particular Napoli, Spal, and Genoa). Emotion and condolence from the initial procession to the end of the function. Present on behalf of the Us Ancona club were communications manager Paolo Papili and goalkeeper Filippo Perucchini.

The message from the North

This is the message published on the social media page of the Curva Nord: “HELLO THANKS OUR BROTHER. Wednesday was one of those days that leave a mark on us, it was early afternoon when the news that none of us wanted to hear began to circulate with a tom-tom, which none of us wanted to accept. On Wednesday not only a friend said goodbye to us, on Wednesday a piece of Curva Nord left because Graziano was a fixed point for years, from the Collettivo up to Curva Nord, a pillar of the ultras movement in Ancona, a guide for younger kids, a true and sincere friend with whom we shared beautiful moments of life and curves.
We will miss you Grazia, we will truly miss you our friend, we will miss every nuance of you. We will miss when you came with the “vise bench” to solve all kinds of problems before the Memorials. We will miss the adventures and misadventures together, like when after Ancona-Fermana we found ourselves swimming freestyle in a stream. We will miss the evenings spent together, the trips, we will miss the “I’m pissed off”, which distinguished your docile and patient character… we will truly miss everything about you, our friend!

Know, however, that you will always be among us, you will be in every choir that we sing towards the sky, you will be in the wind that will wave our flags, you will always and forever be in the heart of each of us. Have a safe trip Grazià…have a safe trip Brother from the North.
