Atlante brings fast and ultra-fast charging to Turin Airport

Atlas continues with its project to install 5,000 fast and ultra-fast charging points in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal by 2025 and over 35,000 by 2030. The NHOA Group company, born from the collaboration between Stellantis, NHOA and Free2move eSolutions, has made it known that it has the tender called by SAGAT was awardedan Italian company that deals with the management and development ofTurin Airportfor the construction of charging infrastructures at the Turin airport.

The tender is part of SAGAT’s broader sustainability strategy, called Torino Green Airport.

The plan, launched in 2021, has as its objectives the management of airport infrastructure and operations in an energy-efficient manner, reducing consumption and increasing self-production from renewable sources, containing emissions and paying maximum attention to decarbonisation , as well as on the management of waste, water, and noise pollution in airports and green areas.

Going into more detail, Atlante will build at Turin Airport quick, rapid and ultra-rapid charging stations powered by 100% renewable sources. Overall, they will be 19 stalls built, with the possibility of subsequent enlargement. The charging stations will be located in six areas of the airport and will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be used by all electric vehicles.

The project proposed by Atlante involves the use of shelters and modular solutions, ranging from 22kW quick charging to 200kW ultra-rapid charging, in the various airport areas, as well as energy storage systems to deal with peak moments in request. Furthermore, the stations will be equipped with a solution to discourage the illegal occupation of parking spaces.

Atlante charging stations are present in the major Italian airports with over 50 charging points, including the Rome Fiumicino, Milan Linate and Malpensa airports. Stefano TerranovaCEO of Atlante, commented:

We are proud to count among our successes one of the most important hubs in the North West, which consolidates our position as a leader in the strategic airport sector. Thanks to our charging stations powered by renewable energy, we will contribute to the sustainability plan of Turin Airport, offering a valuable service for all travelers and users of the airport and the adjacent community, building a mobility ecosystem that enables the charging of every electric vehicle in a few minutes.

Gabriele TuccilloCEO of Atlante Italia, added:

We are happy that Atlante confirms itself, once again, as the ideal partner to support strategic infrastructures in the energy transition. The solid presence in northern Italy and the consolidated leadership in airports make us a proud promoter of sustainable mobility in the Piedmont area. This bond is further strengthened by the presence of Atlante in Turin at the innovative urban district ToDream, the vanguard of integration between shopping, entertainment, sports and services, which after 1 year has decided to increase the charging points from 130 to 230 Atlante in its car parks, confirming our commitment to a sustainable and innovative future in close relationship with the territory.
