This time the municipal councilor of Ambiente Asti, Mario Malandrone, does not lack sarcasm to denounce yet another series of potholes on the asphalt in via Ticino, between via Brenta and via delle Quaglie, but takes advantage of his training as a physicist and mathematician to remember that the wheels, «invented in Mesopotamia, then introduced in China around 4,200 BC, are nothing other than the application of one of the fundamental laws that regulate the universe». «The galaxies, the stars, the Sun, the Earth rotate», but in Via Ticino, to paraphrase the city councilor, attempts are being made to stop the rotation of the tires of vehicles in transit.

«Here ancient and forgotten chasms in the asphalt, reinvigorated by the abundant and frequent recent rains – observes Malandrone – fight their battle every day against tires and rims, opposing their moment of inertia because, being wheels, they would like to rotate. An expanse of potholes and old, poorly made repairs that are crumbling, because a shovel and a bucket of asphalt thrown into the ground are not enough to withstand the stress of cars, school buses full of children or massive waste collection vehicles that pass through it in large numbers every day”.

The minority councilor denounces that «the passage on that stretch of road is a continuous slalom aimed at avoiding significant damage to vehicles as well as to people who perhaps use light vehicles such as scooters and bicycles and also risk damage to the neck bone. All you have to do is pass through Via Ticino to see the buses proceeding at walking pace, but pay close attention to the cars coming in the wrong direction to try to pass on the rare stretches that are still intact.”
