Caltanissetta, ITET student “Rapisardi Da Vinci” among the top 10 in the under 20 photography competition on Parrhesia – il Fatto Nisseno

A photographic exhibition was held in the Sala Frattallone of the historic Palazzo Moncada in Caltanissetta, displaying the fifty best productions created by high school students in Nisse as part of a competition on the theme of Parrhesia. The student of ITET “Rapisardi Da Vinci”, Giovanni Ferraro of 3 B Informatica ranked among the top 10 places in the photography competition, in the under 20 category.

The competition, which challenged students to express the infinite variations of the free word with photographic images, saw the participation of talents from all the secondary schools in the city of Caltanissetta. The student Giovanni, guided by profs. Andrea Bonanno and Gilda Lionti, brilliantly interpreted the theme, immortalizing in one shot a strong message against arrogance, presumption and power.

The title of the work presented by Giovanni Ferraro is “words in freedom” and represents a powerful example of how art can be used to express profound and complex ideas. The photography created by Giovanni not only demonstrates technical and artistic ability, but also the ability to reflect on the reality in which we live, characterized by quantities of words that very often appear vacuous and devoid of creative force. From this perspective, the image wants to express the value of the word that “builds”, capable of “tearing silences” and giving voice to the deepest thoughts. The subjects of the photo are two students of our Institute, Ines Lo Bianco and Rosario Pelonero, who enthusiastically participated in this project, lending their image. Their participation was not only an act of creativity, but also a gesture of courage and commitment to the values of freedom of speech and thought. They understood the importance of the competition theme and chose to be an active part of this visual dialogue on Parrhesia.

The result achieved is a tribute to the dedication, creativity and hard work of our student. It is also a recognition of our commitment as an Institute to encouraging and supporting, in addition to academic learning, creative expression and critical thinking among students, providing them with the necessary resources and creating an environment in which they feel safe to express their their ideas.
