Fiumicino, act of vandalism at the Cetorelli camp. The sports club: “We will not be discouraged”

An act of vandalism has once again targeted the Cetorelli field in Fiumicino. Material damage that is being counted today. The athletics club is very saddened by what happened, but there is also a certainty, that of continuing to move forward with the important project undertaken which aims to enhance this sport and young people.

It is not the first time that Cetorelli has been targeted by unknown persons for their nocturnal raids

What was targeted in the vandalism at Cetorelli was the entrance to the gym where Atletica Villa Guglielmi does weightlifting and where the equipment is stored.

Only four months ago, premises were targeted which had been attempted to be accessed by removing the railings installed by the Municipality in recent years.

Since the sports club received the provisional concession, nn September 2020, there were four attempts to break into the changing rooms.

In the latest episode, that of today’s night, Monday 17 June, the two “gyms” ended up in the sights of vandals.

“The doors and windows were destroyed – they explain from Atletica Villa Guglielmicausing not only material damage, but also a strong sense of despair and anger in our sporting community. It is unacceptable that a place intended for the growth and training of our young people is systematically targeted by those who do not respect the work and commitment of many”.

In fact, whoever broke in shouldn’t have stolen anything but still took away some skittles, some weights and the training vortex by throwing it in the middle of the field.

This time too the company reported the incident, exactly as it has done in the past.

“We urge everyone to report any suspicious behavior – asks the company – We ask the competent authorities to intensify controls and take concrete measures to guarantee the safety and integrity of the structures that belong to everyone. We will not be discouraged. We will continue to work with dedication and passion to offer our children a safe and peaceful environment in which they can grow and practice the sport they love.”
