The choice of the location of the press conference was not random but expresses the organizers’ desire to highlight a strong signal of inclusion and social awareness.

Simone Carcuro, President of the Simone Provincial Student Council, underlined:

“This symbolic gesture represents the Council’s commitment to promoting integration and offering opportunities for growth and participation to all young people, regardless of their situation, with the desire to represent everyone, in particular the least and weakest.

Student’s Day 2024 promises to be a moment of high value, full of activities, interventions and shows, so much so that he received a note of merit from senator for life Liliana Segre, who sent a message of great courage to the representatives of the Council and to all the students. In fact, the note reads: “You are the only custodians, the best bridge to the future”.

For Simone Carcuro, creator with the other young students involved, the event represents a unique opportunity for students from Potenza and the surrounding areas to meetdiscuss and grow together, in an atmosphere of celebration and sharing.

The objectives of the initiative are clear and precise: to create an environment for discussion and cultural exchange between students of different origins and backgrounds and to encourage the active participation of young people.

The occasion will also be a precious moment to offer opportunities for active involvement and support the development of skills through laboratories and workshops that help students discover and develop their abilities.

Given the high profile of the guests, the event will also have the mission of raising awareness on current issues and rights, in order to build a debate to discuss issues relevant to society and the future of young people”.

The institutions that sponsored the initiative also took part in the press conference.

For Antonio Candela, President of the Technical Committee of Potenza Città Italiana dei Giovani, the student’s day represents a significant moment and the continuation of the numerous activities undertaken with the students, all aimed at achieving the ambitious goal of achieving the title of Italian Capital of Youth Young.

This day – according to Candela – is not only a celebration, but also an opportunity to consolidate the results obtained and to continue to promote inclusion, active participation and youth protagonism within the community.

He then spoke Vittoria Rotunno, Councilor for Youth Policies of the Municipality of Potenza reiterating the precious work carried out in the past months. The councilor stated:

“These experiences have allowed young people to express their ideas, develop new skills and significantly contribute to the growth and improvement of our city.

Student Day, therefore, not only celebrates the fundamental role of young people in our society, but also represents a starting point for future initiatives and projects.

It is a recognition of the value and potential of our young people and a commitment to continue investing in their skills and their future.”

The entire event that saw among the actuators also Simona Bonito, Equality Councilor of the Province of Potenzawho has always been very close to the young representatives of the Consulta who declared in the press conference:

“Student Day has the fundamental objective of raising young people’s awareness of the issues of rights, equality and parity. In an era where social and gender inequalities are still strongly present, it is essential that new generations are educated and aware of their rights and the challenges that society faces.

This day represents a unique opportunity to start a virtuous path that can act as a bridge between the world of school, university and work.

Today’s young people need to be accompanied on a growth path that prepares them to face the challenges of the future.

This accompaniment is not only about formal education, but also about the development of soft skills, civic education and social awareness.

It is important that young people acquire the necessary tools to become active and responsible citizens, capable of contributing positively to society.

The transition from the world of school to university and work is a fundamental moment that requires adequate support and collaboration from everyone.

Only through a collective and conscious commitment will we be able to guarantee a better future for the new generations, and these initiatives are fundamental for this to happen.”
