CaterRaduno arrives in Pesaro

The Rai Radio2 festival, launched by Caterpillar, returns from 27 to 30 June in Pesaro Capital of Culture 2024. Radio, great live music and civil commitment in a non-stop of exclusive events: from Cosmo, Ditonellapiaga and Valerio Lundini, to Don Luigi Ciotti with Libera

PESARO – From June 27th to 30th, the Caterpillar people are preparing to converge on Pesaro 2024 – Italian capital of culture. The CaterRaduno it is a widespread festival: from Baia Flaminia to Piazza del Popolo up to the Experimental Theatre, to celebrate together with four non-stop days of totally free events from dusk to dawn and into the night, to dance, reflect, share and listen to great live music live on Rai Radio2, on digital terrestrial Channel 202, on RaiPlay and RaiPlay Sound.

For 25 years we have concluded the radio season with a party. The radio meets its listeners and goes on air, together, from a stage by the sea. With great live music and slightly special episodes. We are a community radio, we tell stories about everyone’s present, lightly but without forgetting the world. This year we feel, like many others, an urgent, enormous need for peace. We are the radio and we would like to break the news: “We are at peace.” We would like to do it first, because the radio comes first. This is how we move forward: Let’s cultivate peace, one step at a time, every day. Peace is a culture. Let’s sow, this is how Massimo Cirri and Sara Zambotti describe the heart of the event.

Great live music!
Also this year the CaterRaduno offers a unique musical program. It starts with the presence on stage, for the two live episodes of Caterpillar, of great artists such as Selton and Frankie Hi-Nrg mc. At dawn on 28 June, the sun will rise on the Cosmo concert, an unprecedented and extraordinary live show in front of the sea also live on Radio2, visually on Raiplay and on digital terrestrial channel 202. On the evening of June 28th the national debut of the new musical show by Valerio Lundini & I Vazzanikki followed by the determination of Ditonellapiaga’s live performance. On Saturday 29th the music will begin in the afternoon with the Ladri di Carrozzelle, in Piazza del Popolo, to return to the beach of Baia Flaminia in the evening with a long party: the energy of Lucio Corsi’s concert, one of the revelations of this spring, and the closing entrusted to the Auroro Borealo DJ set, for an original and glamorous pairing!

In addition to music, the program includes moments of comedy with two female protagonists: Yoko Yamada’s stand up comedy on the evening of Thursday 27th and Cinzia Spanò’s “exaggeration” course on the morning of Saturday 29th.

The CaterRaduno is also an opportunity to talk about current events, with the screening of the documentary “A nord di Lampedusa” (Saturday afternoon) in the presence of Vito Fiorino and Alessandro Rocca – protagonist and director – and with the guests of the live episodes chosen from among the most significant stories told during this radio season (among others: Norma Bargetzi, one of the “Elders for the climate” who won a legal case against the Swiss government for inaction against the climate crisis; Alfonso Bianchi, journalist from Europa Today who explained Europe to Caterpillar in the year of the elections; and Roberto Scaini of Doctors Without Borders).

The last act of the festival will be the first reading group ever created, with Simonetta Bitasi and the writer Sarah Savioli in the sea of Baia Flaminia. Furthermore, on the centenary of radio in Italy, a group of cyclists will reach Pesaro from the Rai headquarters in Corso Sempione in Milan, pedaling for 6 days on cargo bikes equipped with radios.

The CaterRaduno with Libera, from Pesaro to the Ivory Coast
Caterraduno continues its relationship with Libera – Associations, names and numbers against the mafias. The sale of the official t-shirt of the event, created and offered this year by the Pesaro illustrator Alessandro Baronciani, will finance a cooperation project with the Ivory Coast: the Communauté Abel, which welcomes minors in conflict with the law and orphans, children street people, war displaced people and families in difficulty.

This project will be told Don Luigi Ciotti as always in Pesaro with Radio2 listeners on Saturday 29th at 6pm on the stage in Piazza del Popolo.
