Training in the prefecture, in Ravenna, against gender violence

Taking charge and treating abusers are also among the themes of the first of the two scheduled days

It is essential to act in an integrated and synergistic way to prevent and combat gender-based violence and feminicides in an increasingly effective way. This is the inspiring principle of the training initiative on the topic promoted by the prefecture of Ravenna, where today the prefect Castrese De Rosa and, among others, the public prosecutor at the Ravenna court Daniele Barberini and the president of Linea Rosa Alessandra Bagnara have addressed the main aspects of the dramatic problem by addressing operators from the police forces, local police forces, health institutions, municipal social services, the Linea Rosa anti-violence center itself, the school world and the university campus of Ravenna.

It is no coincidence that a composite audience given that “The State, the school, the family and voluntary groups must increasingly collaborate with each other to provide efficient and timely responses and foster an ethical dimension that holds everyone accountable”, observed the prefect, opening the works, thus underlining the integrated approach.

The training day began with the theme of “Relevance of the timeliness of judicial action in crimes of gender violence”, addressed by the Public Prosecutor Barberini, who illustrated the regulatory framework of reference, focusing on the most relevant provisions of the code of criminal procedure, on the recent innovations on the “Red Code” front and on the related application critical issues. It is necessary to network, the prosecutor reiterated, recalling the recent activation of a working group within the “Permanent table on monitoring”. of the phenomena of gender violence and youth deviance”, which operates in the prefecture and which works in synergy with the operational observatory in the prosecutor’s office. In fact, the two bodies will jointly support projects on the prevention of gender violence in schools in the province, in a process that includes as the next stage a meeting with the school managers of the area and with the manager of the provincial school office Paolo Bernardi.

The work continued on the topic of taking charge and treatment of men who are perpetrators of abuse by the “Liberiamoci dalla violence” centers, with particular reference to the “Liberiamoci dalla violence” Centers, while representatives of the municipalities illustrated the role of social services, addressing in particular the aspect of their active presence in the bodies responsible for stemming the phenomenon, described as “continuously growing”. The president of Linea Rosa instead dealt with the cultural aspect, the one linked to “”Stereotypes, Prejudices and Secondary Victimization”.

“The path that we have outlined in agreement with the Public Prosecutor’s Office and with all the subjects that make up the prevention and repression network, tends to enhance the role of each actor and to create a system of collaboration that addresses in a systematic and pragmatic aspects of a phenomenon that requires the constant participation of all the protagonists”, stated the prefect De Rosa in conclusion. Along the same line was the prosecutor Barberini, who defined the collaboration with the prefecture as “fundamental to achieve greater prevention and support the activity of both the anti-violence centers and the judicial police”.

The next training day will take place on May 31st. Representatives of the State Police and the Carabinieri will address “Mistreatment in the family and domestic violence – The conditions for the warning of the police commissioner” and “How to ask for help: 112 and territorial legality controls, crimes that can be prosecuted ex officio and reports from citizens”, while operators from the Romagna local health unit will discuss the topic “Adolescents and the culture of good relationships”. Also on the program is the equally important theme “Dangerous relationships: when loving too much becomes violence”, organized by anti-violence centres.
