Finance controls during the long motoring weekend. 1300 people were involved in the illegal secondary tiketing ring

Fake tickets for the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Imola, at least 1,300 people involved and a scam of around 200 thousand euros: this is what was brought to light by the Bologna Financial Police after the long weekend dedicated to motorswhich brought over 200 thousand fans to the international Enzo and Dino Ferrari racetrack from 17 to 19 May.

Invalid tickets, retouched and sold

In most cases, the preventive intelligence activity and the checks carried out directly at the access gates to the circuit (in collaboration with Siae officials) have unmasked a secondary ticketing system: specifically, these were mostly invalid tickets purchased at a reduced price, i.e. in the under 12 category, then graphically modified to be sold at full price via portals, in fact, secondary ticketing resale. Investigations are still underway, the Fiamme Gialle say, with the aim of fully unmasking the mechanism behind these illicit sales systems, to reconstruct the purchasing chain and, therefore, to trace and identify the promoters.

People left out

Persons stopped, i.e. in possession of an invalid ticket, they couldn’t enter unless by purchasing a new ticket on site.
The controls of the Guardia di Finanza also concerned the safety of the products on sale, leading to the concentration of the economic controls of the territory precisely in the places of the Formula 1 event and in the surrounding areas. This is where they came from further seizures: a man of Pakistani origins, in particular, was seized further 5,500 items of costume jewellery, electronics and stationery, all lacking the minimum information content and data relating to the composition and the possible presence of substances harmful to human beings.

Illegal gadgets

The seller was reported to the Bologna Chamber of Commerce for violations of the Consumer Code. And then, again, several violations of the ordinances of the mayor of Imola, specific to the Grand Prix weekend. Unauthorized sales on public land were contested: just under 500 gadgets were discovered offered for sale in unauthorized locations, as well as drinks in glass or cans.
