It was presented this morning in the press room of PalaPaninithe roster of Modena Volleyball for the 2024/25 season. The Sports Director Alberto was present Casadei and Coach Alberto Giuliani.
“It’s a beautiful day full of enthusiasm – says Casadei -, we want to look forward with confidence and present the roster for next season. Let’s start with the confirmations, namely Sanguinetti and Stankovic as central defenders, Davyskiba and Rinaldi in the role of spikers and Federici and Gollini in the libero department. De Cecco has arrived, the right player to fill the role of setter in a place like Modena and in a team that needs cornerstones and fixed points in an increasingly competitive championship. Alongside him is Anzani, both he and Luciano have very high values in terms of experience, maturity and technique as do Stankovic and Massari. I also mention Meijs, in his first experience outside the Netherlands and we are happy that he is here with us, and Mati, a young talent who we have been following for years. It was an important negotiation that started a long time ago, we are proud to have brought it to Modena. Like all young players he will need time, but he has the potential to become a protagonist. Finally, in the opposite department there is the return of Buchegger fresh from an excellent championship played in Catania and the new player Ikhbayri, a new entry last year in Korea. He impressed us during the Dubai Tournament and now he will have the chance to show himself in the Italian championship. Our desire is to rekindle the enthusiasm at PalaPanini with balance and quality of play, improving last season’s results. In terms of personnel, we must try to stay close to the top, knowing that there are at least five teams ahead of us. You set a goal and then naturally try to go even higher. At this moment, with the forces around us, it becomes an increasingly difficult battle and we will have to give our best on every occasion.”
“The task of the club – explains Giuliani – was to assemble the best roster possible with our resources. The staff’s goal is to allow the players to express a good level of volleyball. I really like this team, I will take care of it, bringing it to the best of its possibilities. The mix of experts and young people places no limits on us either above or below, so it will be up to us to do the best we can. The training was made up of the entire club, in synergy and with the collaboration of everyone. Who will play? Choices will be made based on training performance, healthy competition must be a great stimulus to improve on a daily basis. We will always enter the field with the desire to win, thinking only of ourselves. A lot of effort was made with what we had, let’s see where we get to.”
