The 78-year-old from Auletta, Antonio Pucciarelli, didn’t make itwho died due to severe burns following a domestic accident in locality Tufariello between Salvitelle and Auletta. After 10 days of agony at the Cardarelli hospital in Naples, the man, known in the area as the owner of an oil producing company, did not make it.
The man was seriously injured by the flame that broke out following the gas leak. He was immediately transported by the 118 rescuers to the “Luigi Curto” hospital in Polla.
After the initial treatment received, he was urgently transferred by air ambulance to the “Centro grandi burni di Napoli” hospital due to the severity of his injuries.
The explosion had caused significant damage to the room where the accident occurred, also involving other rooms of the house and the external part. Both the 118 personnel and the Sala Consilina Fire Brigade intervened at the scene of the incident together with the Carabinieri of the Sala Consilina Company.
Dismay in the community of Auletta, as well as in that of Caggiano – country of origin of the injured person – and of the entire Tanagro territory for the disappearance of the man known and loved by all.
