New female entrepreneurship committee of the Chamber of Commerce

PISTOIA – A new team for the female entrepreneurship committee of the Pistoia-Prato Chamber of Commerce established on 8 May 2024 and in office for the next three years.

The Committee for Female Entrepreneurship (CIF) of the Pistoia-Prato Chamber of Commerce will once again be led by Patrizia Elisabetta Benellioutgoing president, reconfirmed unanimously.

The Committee was created to support female entrepreneurship, encourage the birth and development of female businesses and contribute, in this way, to the growth and increase in the competitiveness of local production systems, create synergies with other bodies and/or institutions in the area , as well as enhancing existing female realities through strengthening the position of women in businesses and the qualification of women entrepreneurs.

Female entrepreneurship represents an important phenomenon in both the territories of the provinces of Prato and Pistoia.

According to data from the Chamber of Commerce at the end of 2023 in the province of Pistoia there are 6,276 active female businesses, 23.2% of the local entrepreneurial fabric, and in the province of Prato there are 7,563 active businesses run by women in the province of Prato, the 25.9% of the total. If the propensity for female entrepreneurship in Pistoia is in line with the regional average values, in Prato it is decidedly high compared to the regional and national average.

In both Pistoia and Prato the presence of women-owned businesses exceeds 50% of the total in personal services; the share of women-run businesses in tourist, accommodation and catering services is particularly high (31.1% in Pistoia and 29.4% in Prato) and, as regards the province of Prato, in the industrial sector (32.5% ).

The committee includes: Stefania Bartoli (Credit and Insurance sector), Patrizia Elisabetta Benelli (for the Chamber of Commerce Council), Maria Chiara Calamai (Crafts sector), Annalisa Di Blasi (trade union organisations), Roberta Innocenti (Commerce sector), Antioca Donatella Moica (for the Chamber of Commerce Council), Giada Molli (Cooperation sector), Michela Nieri (Agriculture sector), Chiara Pasquali (Business Services sector), Patrizia Rosati (Industry sector) and Paola Vignolini (Tourism sector).
