The “Alé!” project is active in the Piana area of ​​Lucca. 2024” – Still Summer 2024” which offers fun summer experiences for young people with disabilities. All planned activities will be presented during a Open Day scheduled for Friday 24 May from 5pm to 8pm at the headquarters of the Foundation for Social Cohesion Onlus, in the San Micheletto complex in Lucca.

The initiative is aimed at families and children interested in enrolling in the project’s activities, carried out in co-planning by the Lucca District Area, by the local municipalities with the partnership and support of third sector associations and bodies. On Friday, citizens will therefore be able to speak with the representatives of the associations and partner bodies that propose the activities, collect information and clarify any doubts. District area staff will also be present.

The Alé! project therefore promotes actions for the summer aimed at young people residing in the territorial area of ​​the Piana di Lucca between the ages of 3 and 23 with serious disabilities who attend schools of all levels.

The objective of the activities is to offer inclusion and socialization experiences and guarantee support to maintain and develop skills and autonomy. The project involves 17 partners and 2 supporters: a community in action for an initiative of great social and educational value. Together with the Lucca Plain District Area of ​​the North West Tuscany USL Company there are in fact the Municipalities of Lucca, Altopascio, Capannori, Montecarlo, Pescaglia, Porcari, Villa Basilica, Foundation for Social Cohesion Onlus, Anffas Lucca ETS-APS, Provincial Association AICS Lucca, ASD Arca di Noè, APS Kreativa, Fondazione Mare Oltre Onlus, La Mano Amica Società Cooperativa Sociale, ASD Estate Giovani, Riding Center La Luna ASD, Fonte del Sorriso, Cooperativa Sociale l’Impronta Onlus, ASD Sport & Fun, ASD Lucca Swimming Club, APS National Board of the Deaf Lucca Provincial Section, Mangwana APS Lucca, ASD Small Stars, ASD Freestyle Valico, ASD l’Acquario, ASD Centro Ippico Marilla.

What does the Alé project propose
The project supports an indicative period of 4 weeks of activity in the period between 10 June and 13 September 2024. The National Deaf Body APS Provincial section of Lucca, supporter of the project, will be able to make available professional figures such as communication assistant – interpreter LIS.

The options of the Alé! project
The project proposes 3 types of activities:
Area “A”:recreational socio-rehabilitative activities organized in the area by the partner entities or in collaboration/agreement with other associations that were found suitable for co-planning. Participation in activities is supported with tutoring.
Area “B”: individualized support interventions for personalized home recreational-rehabilitative activities and/or accompaniment to events or activities identified by the family not included in those proposed in Area A.
Area “C” transversal and integrative activities compared to the previous areas. In fact, it is possible to opt, at the time of registration, for a one-day excursion on the Elianto catamaran for a navigation between Viareggio and the San Rossore Park, a sail on sailing boats in the stretch of water in front of the Migliarino National Park – San Rossore – or the Marico Secche della Moloria Park, trip with overnight stay to the Island of Elba and trip with overnight stay to the Orecchiella Park.

The completed form can be delivered directly to the chosen association or body, also as part of the open day on May 24th in San Micheletto.

It is important to point out that registration for the activities must be carried out at least 7 days before the start of attendance and in any case no later than 10 June (for example if you decide to take advantage of the activity starting from 12 June, registration must be delivered by June 5th).
