Sunday 26 May 2024 there Medici Fortress of Arezzowith entrance from viale Bruno Buozzi, hosts the second edition of “Arezzo and its valleys”an extemporaneous painting competition curated by Mariangela Baldi and organized by the cultural association Art-Ecò with the patronage and contribution of Tuscany region and the patronage of Municipality of Arezzo and of Guido d’Arezzo Foundation.
The event is made possible thanks to the contribution of various private sponsors, who, after last year’s success, have renewed their support for the initiative.
This year too, the sixteenth-century fortress will welcome artists from all over Italy, who will paint the most beautiful views of the defensive structure and the views of the city that can be enjoyed from its walkways and the surrounding areas. The main aim of the competition is in fact to enhance Arezzo and its territory, through plein air painting.
Italian and foreign painters of any artistic tendency and technique can participate in the initiative.
The registration and stamping of the canvases or other supports will take place on Sunday 26 May, from 8.30 am to 11 am, in the secretariat specially set up in the competition venue. The finished works must be delivered by 5pm.
At the end of the competition the framed paintings will be displayed to be admired by the public present and the technical jury. The judging commission will draw up the final ranking and award the rich prizes.
The winners’ awards ceremony will take place at 6 pm, preceded by performances by the ensemble
“Little sparks” of the Laureta Ciuco music school of Sansepolcro and of the female polyphonic choir “Voices together” of Arezzo.
There will also be a large one in the Prato area hot air balloonwhich from 5pm will allow visitors to admire Arezzo from above.
