«We delivered to the Municipality of Rimini the urban-economic additions that had been requested from us. We just have to wait for the decision of the technical working group.” Antonio Ciuffarella, president of “Aurora real estate”, the lead company of the temporary grouping of companies (RTI), of which Rimini Calcio is also part, which, at the beginning of March, deposited the feasibility study for the construction with the Municipality of the new “Romeo Neri”, looks positively towards May 21st. Day on which the municipal commission will have to establish whether the “stadium proposal” is actually of public interest or not. «Given the painstaking work carried out by our designers, I can only be optimistic – comments Ciuffarella -. We will see”. Less than a week, therefore, and next Tuesday the red and white fans will know if the road that will lead to the construction of the modern red and white home will have entered the final slope.
The bureaucratic process
«The private company – confirms Palazzo Garampi – presented the requested documentary integration for which a 14-day suspension of deadlines had been granted. The final deadline of May 21st will therefore be followed by the drafting of the final report by the technicians which will be presented to the first municipal council available for approval, probably the following week”. Afterwards, if the Sadegholvaad administration has given the OK, the project will go to the city council for examination, which will have to approve the modification of the three-year public works plan, including the creation of the new “Neri”.
Contracts and times
In short, a series of necessary bureaucratic steps, upon completion of which the RTI will be able to present the actual technical and economic feasibility project. Which, if approved by the municipal administration, will determine the launch of the tender for the awarding of the works contract to the winning company and the related agreement (thirty or fifty years) for the management of the stadium. All in a period of time which, as hypothesized by Ciuffarella himself, should include the inauguration of the plant in 36 months, therefore in 2027. If everything goes smoothly, of course.
It is precisely for this reason that Palazzo Garampi has appointed a firm of lawyers, the Cavaggioni law firm of San Bonifacio (Verona), specialized in technical evaluations of new stadiums for technical support to the Sole Manager of the procedure, Chiara Fravisini, for the drafting activities of the analysis of economic-financial convenience and economic-financial assistance and for the legal-administrative assistance of the proposal.
