Fipe Confcommercio Massa Carrara is following with the utmost attention the issue linked to waste collection within the municipality of Massa. Following the announced desire by the municipal police to start at the beginning of June with checks – and related sanctions, in case of irregularities – on the methods of displaying bins outside commercial activities, the provincial president of Fipe Francesco Tonarelli together with the entire board of directors of the union requested and obtained a discussion table in which, in addition to Confcommercio and the Municipality, also representatives of the Asmiu company, of the natural shopping centers of Massa and Marina di Mass. “This table – states Tonarelli – represents a precious moment of discussion to discuss both the necessary need to protect urban decorum and the equally important need of commercial activities to be able to dispose of their waste in an adequate manner. The biggest problem, for many of these activities, it is the little space available within their premises, which effectively makes it impossible to place waste bins there. We believe it is unfair for those who are unable to keep waste containers inside the business , a sanction should be triggered when he is obliged for objective reasons to display them outside”. “At the discussion table – continues Tonarelli – an important willingness to listen emerged on the part of the subjects present, whom we thank, and which has translated for the moment into the creation of a questionnaire aimed at the entrepreneurs of the public businesses of Marina di Massa, with who will be able to indicate exactly the situation in which their respective activities find themselves.
