Pescara: tomorrow at Paolo VI conference on Parkinson’s patients

The 2nd national congress of the Mirt Park Project scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 1 June starting from 9am, in the conference room of the Adriatic Center on the Lungomare Giovanni XXIII is entitled “Multidisciplinary care for patients with Parkinson’s disease”.

In fact, the Paolo VI Foundation is one of the ten rehabilitation centers that in Italy are affiliated with this innovative multidisciplinary rehabilitation approach, aimed at patients suffering from Parkinson’s Disease and Parkinsonism called Mirt (Multidisciplinar Intensive Rehabilitation Treatment), conceived and chaired by Dr. Giuseppe Frazzitta ,
neurologist and neurorehabilitator: «With this appointment we will create a showcase – explains the expert -. For
patients, in fact, the hope is that on the national territory there are multidisciplinary centers that allow us to deal with this pathology in the correct way. Parkinson’s disease is not a pathology that can be addressed only with drugs or rehabilitation. Only a group of professionals, physiotherapists, neurologists, psychologists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, can fight it together, making this disease easily tackleable.”

It will be Dr. Frazzitta himself, after the greetings of the authorities including the president and general director of the Paul VI Foundation (the lawyer Peppino Polidori and the doctor Elisa Di Tillio) and the archbishop of Pescara-Penne Monsignor Tommaso Valentinetti, who will hold the introductory speech on the theme “The multidisciplinary approach to
Parkinson’s disease: why?”. Later she will be Dr. Carla Iarlori, neurologist and neurorehabilitator
of the Paolo VI Foundation of Pescara, as well as of the Mirt Park Project Centro Mirt of Pescara, to give the report on the theme “One year of Mirt activity in the Paolo VI Foundation”.
