Calabria is preparing to experience an infrastructural revolution thanks to the commitment of the Minister of Infrastructure, Matteo Salvini. A significant milestone was recently achieved with the conclusion of the services conference for the new SS106 Jonica, which will connect Catanzaro to Crotone. This project involves the construction of 45 km of new dual carriageway motorway, with an investment of 3 billion euros. This infrastructure promises to transform regional mobility and open up new economic and social opportunities.
Work on the new SS106 Jonica can begin within the following eight months. The project is an integral part of the Anas Program Contract and will allow the citizens of Crotone to reach the Lamezia Terme motorway junction in just 50 minutes. This new connection will not only improve the quality of life of Calabrians, but will also stimulate the local economy.
The executive project will be ready by December 2024 and work will begin in 2025. This result is the result of a synergistic collaboration between Anas and the Calabria Region, which allowed us to accelerate the implementation times.
The new SS106 Jonica represents a symbol of renewal, connecting Longobucco to Mirto-Crosia and creating a new axis between Crotone and Corigliano-Rossano. These developments are crucial for economic growth and improved infrastructure in the region.
