Small ‘Sinners’ grow in Cinisello Balsamo. His name is Marco Brignoli, born in 2010, and he is a student by profession. But with a big dream in his chest: “I want to get to the top ten in the world.”
Yes, because Brignoli’s greatest passion is tennis and the results achieved so far in the 14-year-old’s young career give rise to hope for a future within the world professional men’s tennis circuit. First Italian in the European Under 14 ranking after reaching the semi-final in an international tournament in Greece last March, a few weeks ago Brignoli, athlete of the Bestennis competitive team, entered the top 100 of the Under 14 world ranking, positioning himself in 88th place after finishing third in a tournament in Croatia. «I feel part of this generational change that is affecting tennis – explains Brignoli -, also thanks to the results that Italian tennis players are obtaining.”
The young man from Cinisello started playing tennis at the age of 4, after finding a toy racket at home. A sign of destiny which, in fact, marked the beginning of everything: «My parents enrolled me in a course, I then started doing some tournaments in Italy and they went well, so then I continued until I got to Today”. The dream, one day, is to win a Slam tournament, Wimbledon in particular, taking inspiration from Novak Djokovic and, above all, with very clear ideas: «You have to have fun, keep working and even if something goes wrong, focus on training: this is the best way to achieve the goal.”
