The third edition of the initiative “If you love it, don’t dirty it”, promoted by the city councilor Giovanni Magni, supported by the mayor Enrico Trantino and organized by Eleonora Ardizzone, has ended. The event represents an appeal to the community of Catania to promote respect and care for public spaces.

From the beginning of his mandate, Magni has placed urban cleanliness at the center of his priorities, promoting activities aimed at improving the appearance and liveability of the city. The collaboration with Mayor Trantino, known for his sensitivity on these issues, has already led to significant improvements, but both underline that the path towards a completely clean city is still long.

This year’s edition focused on the Catania seafront, an area whose beauty is often defaced due to the indiscriminate abandonment of waste. The event saw the participation of the mayor Trantino (who had already set a good example last year, wearing gloves and collecting waste in the Castello Ursino area), the councilor Sergio Parisi and many young people belonging to school and university associations.

“A clean city not only improves the quality of life of its inhabitants, but also represents the best business card for tourists. We cannot allow the indifference of a few to undermine the beauty of our territory”, Magni’s words.
