An entirely ecological inspiration, with particular attention to sustainability, inclusiveness and integration with the surrounding area, emerged from the urban regeneration projects that the students of the “Alessandro Serpieri” high school in Rimini dedicated to the city of Riccione. Yesterday morning, Wednesday 5 June, at the Palazzo del Turismo in Riccione the students of two fourth graders of the “Architecture and environment” section of the Rimini high school presented their urban regeneration projects included in the PCT programs (paths for transversal skills and orientation). Present at the presentation were the councilor for Urban Planning, Territorial Planning and Urban Regeneration of the Municipality of Riccione, Christian Andruccioli, and the manager of the Urban Regeneration Service, Tecla Mambelli, who was responsible for reviewing the documents. The municipal administration of Riccione is undertaking an important urban regeneration activity that the students wanted to learn about and explore. The final projects involved the renovation and regeneration of theformer Bertazzoni colony of viale Torino, theformer Smart hotel in viale Nazario Sauro ei Montanari gardens. The works are the result of a long journey of study, analysis and planning that the two classes of the Serpieri high school undertook with the technical office of the Municipality of Riccione, in particular with the sector manager, Tecla Mambelli.

The phases of the project

The projectwhich it is developed in three phaseshe predicted one first preliminary inspection and analysis activity of buildings and spaces identified as objects of urban recovery and regeneration, a second moment of elaboration of feasibility projects followed by a phase of comparison and revision with Dr. Mambelli and then completed with the drafting of the final projects themselves, always under the supervision of the municipal manager. 5 projects of recovery, urban regeneration and urban restructuring of great interest emerged which involved 26 boys and girls. Next year the five projects presented will be published in a photographic collection with the respective technical descriptions That it will form a first professional portfolio of very young aspiring architects and designers. “It is a source of pride for our city to see that local schools, and not just those in Riccione, are interested in the urban regeneration projects that the municipal administration is carrying out – said councilor Christian Andruccioli -. I really appreciated the passion and commitment that the kids showed in exhibiting their projects and their involvement in a sustainable approach to design.”
